About our school

Our primary school is in Pretzschendorf in the Sächsische Schweiz - Osterzgebirge in Germany. This district is situated in the south of Saxony in the Erzgebirge and Elbsandsteingebirge near the Czech border. Our school building has been existing for 114 years. There are nine classrooms, a handicraft room, a computer room and a fairytale room.

In the cellar there are the eating room and the municipality library, under the roof you can find the dayhome for schoolchildren in the afternoon. In this school year, 116 children of the classes one to four (aged 6 to 10) are visiting our school. Seven female teachers and one male teacher teach in one 1st, two 2nd, two 3rd and one fourth class.

In front of the school we can work in the school garden and observe animals and plants in our pond.

On the schoolyard there are many green areas and places for break games. When our schoolyard was renewed in 1996, many trees and bushes were planted.
The children of the classes 1 like to play in the sand box while table tennis is the favourite activity of the classes 3 and 4. Behind the sand box there are tables and banks for outside lessons.
